Raising children can be a joy, yet at times is a relentless task and sometimes we can find ourselves caught up in unhealthy patterns, where communication seems impossible, family members stop listening to one another and resentment grows.

This can be especially so when children become adolescents and strive for their own individualism and sense of identity, testing rules and pushing boundaries. Children don’t come with manuals and though there are many self help books out there, it can be very easy to get lost in the day to day world of parenting, work and family life.

At this point it can be hard to see the wood for the trees. Often it can be useful to have a fresh pair of eyes look at the situation, help you step back and think about how to effect changes.

Most issues can be changed for the better and we provide sessions where the parent/carer can have some space to explore what is going on. Once the parent has understood their own impact on the situation we can offer techniques and strategies to begin to change patterns of behaviour.
